Located in Hakusan, Bunkyo Ward, Taiwanese eatery also serves plump pork wontons, yellow chive boiled dumplings, lu rou fan, pai gu fan, and a vibrant lineup of street-style dishes.
01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
Tightly packed inside silky, thin skins, Taiwanese wontons are the definitive order at also. In addition to pork, variations with prawn and chive or mushrooms and bamboo shoots offer a pleasing mix of slippery textures and hearty bites. Boiled dumplings filled with pork and yellow chives, or pork with celery, expand the dim sum selection even further.
Weekday lunch is all about flexible sets that pair dim sum with rice or noodles. Diners can pick from sweet-savory braised pork lu rou fan, Tainan-style ji rou fan crowned with bone-in chicken leg, or crispy spiced pork chop pai gu fan coated in tapioca starch. For noodle lovers, there are zha jiang mian slicked with minced pork and shiitake gravy, as well as fragrant scallion oil noodles, all served alongside a bowl of clear, delicate shangtang broth.
Come evening and weekends, the focus broadens to small dishes built for sharing. Dried tofu tossed with za cai and numbing Sichuan pepper, daikon radish cakes, and crisp, spiced Taiwanese fried chicken sit alongside cold beer, wine, and cocktails. Cans and bottles are chosen straight from the self-service cooler, creating an easygoing rhythm whether stopping by for casual bites or lingering drinks.
Equally welcoming for solo diners and groups, also lets you enjoy genuine Taiwanese home-style cooking at your own speed from lunch through dinner.
